The studio

Focal Point Studio is the only fully-equipped photography studio for hire in the Geelong region and includes a small cyclorama (infinity wall). It is the perfect location for portraits (up to two or three people) or product photography.

The studio is available any day of the week, but a 50% surcharge is required on Mondays and Tuesdays (with a minimum of three hours, as those are the days we are normally closed). Our hire rates are the cheapest around, at only $50 per hour. This includes all lighting, light stands, tripods, diffusers, soft-boxes, reflectors, umbrellas and backdrops. We also have IR triggers, so you don't need to worry about getting tangled up in sync leads. 

If you shoot tethered to your laptop , we have a special dedicated table for your computer, which is easily adjustable to any perfect working height.

There are three shooting positions, depending on whether you want use the cyclorama, background paper or cloth/canvass backdrops, etc. We also have tables available for table-top product photography.

There is a dedicated hair and makeup area with well-illuminated mirror, as well as a privacy area for changing clothes.

The main studio is upstairs, so is not suitable for large or heavy items, and may not be suitable for some people to access. Pet photographers are welcome, but all animals must be house-trained and any soiling cleaned up. The stairs into the studio are metal grate style and may be a problem for some animals (we have had some pets carried up the stairs). 

If you require more space, have heavy items or can't utilise the stairs, we do have a pop-up studio downstairs, which is available on Mondays and Tuesdays only. The same rates apply as the upstairs studio on these days, being $75 per hour with a minimum of three hours.

A $200 cash bond or credit card pre-payment is required, which will be returned after your session provided there is no damage to any of the equipment, fittings, furnishings or the cyclorama. Some cleaning fees may apply if the studio is left in a poor state.
